Which data we collect and why
Contact form and email. When you contact us we receive your name, email address, phone number if you give it and the content of your message. We use this to answer your question. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to messages.
Listings. When you place a listing we receive your name, email address, phone number or WhatsApp, the property details and your photos. We use this to publish and manage your listing. Your phone number or WhatsApp and the property details are shown publicly in the listing so buyers can contact you. You give permission for this when you submit the form. Our legal basis is the agreement to publish your listing and your consent for showing your contact details.
Website statistics. With Google Analytics we collect information about how visitors use the website, such as pages visited, time on the site, device, browser and approximate location. IP addresses are not stored in full. We only place analytics cookies after you give consent in the cookie banner.
Advertising. The website shows advertisements from Google AdSense, between blog posts and in the property overview. With your consent Google may use cookies to show personalised advertisements. Without consent Google shows non-personalised advertisements, which may still use cookies needed to prevent fraud and limit how often an advertisement is shown.

- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, only with your consent.
- Advertising cookies from Google AdSense, only with your consent for personalised advertisements.

Who receives your data
We don't sell personal data. We share data only with:
- our hosting provider, which stores the website and form submissions;
- Google, for Google Analytics and Google AdSense;
- Elxis, only when you ask us to put you in touch with them.
Google may process data outside the European Union. Google participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and uses standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
Our Facebook and Instagram icons are plain links. No data is sent to these platforms unless you click them.
How long we keep your data
- Contact messages: up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Listing data: as long as the listing is online, and deleted within 3 months after it is removed or expires.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
- Google AdSense data: according to Google's own policy.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive your data in a usable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Send your request to mail@karpathoshouses.com. We reply within one month.
If you're not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss and unauthorised access, such as a secure connection (HTTPS) and limited access to the website administration.
Changes
We may update this statement. The current version is always published on this page.
